One thing I love about Shopify can be summed up in one word: Opportunity. Before leaving my last job I had such a hard decision. Do I stay with my current job where everything is safe and secure or do I take the job that sounds like a huge pyramid scheme. Shopify sounded too good to be true, but I took it because I saw so much potential in the position.

I’m honestly so happy with my decision to choose Shopify. The opportunities I’ve had here are second to none. Right from the start, I had the opportunity to meet another 11 amazing people - my training team. There is so much opportunity to learn at Shopify, in recent jobs I had to go out of my way to learn new things but here at Shopify, it’s encouraged. In the first few weeks at Shopify, I found myself in a call or a chat and I didn’t know the solution so I had to remedy this. I spent my evenings reading the vault and going through Docebo Modules. The information was so readily available - if I wanted to learn about CSVs I could, everything I need is there for me.

The Shopify internal Start a Business competition was another opportunity that I’ve never experienced anywhere else. I had the opportunity to do what I love, and start an entire business. On top of that, Shopify gave me €100 towards it and if I did well they’d reward me for it. I was one of the winners and they brought me over to Canada for a week of activities. Over there I met new people, experienced new things and developed as a person.

In October I had the opportunity to go to the Manchester Retail Tour, meet our Merchants and help them with their stores. Slack channels, co-working days, town halls, continued development perks. These opportunities are unique to Shopify and that’s what I love about Shopify.
